EHS SMBWA and Department Head SMBWA
Kiken Yochi training (KYT, hazard prediction training) courses and forms are adjusted and
modified to guide site personnel to effectively capture potential hazards and preventive
action. In addition, KYT is organized continuously for qualified KY instructors to teach
trainees how to complete the KY form. The case study is arranged with KY forms completed
by different departments for employees to better understand how to complete a KY form
In 2013 a total of 1,989 KY audits were conducted, the KY implementation passing rate is
99.925%.
At Hermes Epitek, workplace safety management has always been a top priority.
Through continuous SMBWA, the EHS has discovered a great number of deeds and
also detected many defects. In addition to recognizing the deeds, the EHS reported
defects to the superior and implemented improvement management. The department
head SMBWA differs from the EHS SMBWA. In 2012 and 2013 respectively, we
arranged a total of 41 and 45 instances of department head SMBWA for department
heads to care about workers on site and for employees to feel their safety is valued and
cared about by department supervisors, so as to enhance the safety awareness of both
department heads and workers.
SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials
International) began promoting the establishment of
international technical standards in 1970. After several
changes and revisions, Hermes Epitek is honored to be
a member of the work team of SEMI Taiwan in 2013 to
be involved in the latest SEMI International Standards
Program in the translation of Safety Guidelines 2013. By
translating technical standards into Chinese, machine
safety inspections have become more convenient and
friendlier, and we can contribute to the occupational
safety of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry.
