Founded in 1977, Hermes-Epitek has introduced the world’s most advanced semiconductor equipment, laying the groundwork for Taiwan’s advanced process industry. Over more than 40 years, driven by the globalization of Taiwan’s semiconductor sector, Hermes-Epitek has grown to include over 1,200 employees and expanded its presence to the United States, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and China.

With self-developed technologies and collaborative partnerships with leading global equipment suppliers, Hermes-Epitek has served wafer and panel manufacturers throughout Taiwan and Southeast Asia for nearly half a century, installing over 20,000 units of machinery. The company has accumulated a deep understanding of industry needs and built strong relationships with partners in R&D, sales, and service.

Hermes-Epitek has consistently invested in resources and gathered experts from various fields worldwide to conduct fundamental research on front-end equipment and develop its own equipment. This has led to the successful creation of key semiconductor processing equipment, including e-beam inspection systems, low-energy high-current ion implanters, ICP etchers, and metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) systems. The company continues to lead in the development of cutting-edge process technologies below 3nm.

In the wide bandgap semiconductor sector, Hermes-Epitek is extensively involved in silicon carbide (SiC) crystal growth, epitaxy, IC design, and wafer foundry. The company has developed mass-production technologies for SiC substrates and collaborated with strategic partners across the supply chain to accelerate the application of low-loss, high-power SiC semiconductors. These developments support new energy sectors, including electric cars, charging infrastructure, solar power, and offshore wind farms, promoting environmental sustainability.

In the field of biomedicine, Hermes-Epitek is dedicated to improving human life quality. Investments have been made in advanced cancer treatment, ventricular assist devices (key medical devices), and boron neutron capture technology (BNCT), aiming to make significant contributions to human welfare.

Hermes-Epitek envisions becoming a “world-class enterprise in the semiconductor and optoelectronic processing industries”. With the philosophy of “Service by Hermes-Epitek“, the company strives to integrate team efforts, combining fundamental research with advanced technology to drive innovation and transformation for the benefit of customers..

With rapid developments expected in AI, 5G, electric vehicles, and green energy, Hermes-Epitek will continue to invest in the R&D of semiconductor materials, equipment, and processes. The company is also focusing on technologies related to quantum sensing and communications, preparing for the next generation of technological advancements to continually contribute to the progress of humanity.
